Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools is seeking a paraeducator to support students with IEPs, assist with instruction, reinforce grade-level or Alternate Academic Achievement Standards, and help manage classroom behavior across general and specialized settings.

The role may include off-site activities, flexible scheduling, and clerical tasks to support teachers. A grade 15 upon hire with a six-month probation, and training hours are required for advancement to grade 16.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s preferred.
• Nine college credits related to education recommended.
• ParaPro Assessment with score of 455+ required.
• Experience with structured educational settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with instruction and reinforce grade-level or alternate standards.
• Monitor and support student behavior and engagement.
• Support students with diverse needs in general or specialized settings.
• Perform clerical tasks to assist teachers and staff.
