Job summary

Nampa School District #131 is seeking a Special Education Para Professional at Owyhee Elementary School to support students under teacher and principal supervision. You will work with individuals and small groups to reinforce skills taught in class, while helping maintain a positive, structured learning environment.

The role involves preparing instructional materials, tracking student progress, and collaborating with certified staff to implement IEP accommodations and modifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must meet Para Professional requirements.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
• 32 core academic credits from an accredited university.
• Pass the Para Pro assessment with a score of 460 or higher.
• Para Professional experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize materials for small group and individual instruction.
• Maintain high academic standards and expectations.
• Provide tutorial help to students following lessons prescribed by the teacher and reinforce material and skills as directed by certified staff.
• Provide feedback on student performance.
• Assist students in locating instructional materials and starting tasks.
• Assist the classroom teacher in delivering an effective instructional program.
• Work with students to reinforce learning introduced by the teacher.
• Observe and record students’ time on task and progress.
• Keep accurate records for each student as required.
