Job summary

Nampa School District is seeking a Special Education Para Professional – Emotionally Disturbed for Willow Creek Elementary. You will support individualized and small-group instruction under licensed staff to help students achieve academic and behavioral goals.

This role requires patience, strong communication, and ability to follow IEP modifications, with emphasis on de-escalation strategies and consistent data collection to guide instruction and progress monitoring.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Para Pro requirements must be met.
• Bachelor’s degree or 32 core credits may be considered.
• Para Pro assessment with a score of 460 or higher is required.
• Paraprofessional experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize materials for small group and individual instruction.
• Maintain high academic and social/emotional/behavioral standards and expectations.
• Provide tutorial help to students following lessons prescribed by the teacher and reinforce material.
• Provide feedback on student performance.
• Assist with one-on-one or small group instruction as outlined by the teacher.
• Follow IEP modifications and accommodations as specified.
• Collect and maintain student data for progress monitoring.
• Assist with classroom activities and behavior supports.
• Supervise students and ensure safety at all times.
• Participate in professional development related to working with students with behavioral challenges.
