Job summary

Stanislaus County Office of Education seeks a Para Educator for the JFK Special Education program in Modesto. The role supports a certificated teacher by delivering instruction to students with severe behavioral challenges and by monitoring progress.

The position is part-time, 6 hours per day, 184 days over 10 months, with an hourly pay range and eligibility to step-based pay within the district schedule. Applicants must meet ESSA criteria and complete the EdJoin process.

Qualifications

• Edjoin Application required
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Possess SCOE Para Educator Proficiency Certificate or other qualifying document (NCLB/ESSA)

Responsibilities

• Assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individual or small groups of students with severe handicaps and extreme behavioral issues.
• Provide direct instruction, monitor and report student progress regarding behavior and performance.
• Help students develop self-help, behavior, social and community skills.

Associate’s degree or higher
