Job summary

South San Francisco Unified School District is seeking a Paraprofessional II - Special Education to support certificated teachers in designated classrooms for students with moderate to severe needs. You will reinforce instruction, tutor small groups, assist with daily living activities, and help with instructional materials.

Candidates may have a high school diploma and 48 college units or an associate degree, or pass a state/local assessment. Valid First Aid/CPR preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; ESSA requirements must be met.
• Preference for two years of higher education (48 units) or an associated degree.
• May demonstrate knowledge through formal assessment if needed.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce instruction to individuals or small groups.
• Tutor students in academics, daily living, vocational and health care activities.
• Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and routine clerical tasks.
• Support behavior management within the classroom.
