Job summary

Walla Walla Public Schools seeks a Civil Rights Compliance Coordinator to support certificated staff and promote an equitable learning environment. This role helps ensure district compliance with civil rights laws and coordinates related training and information for schools.

The coordinator will work with students under teachers, assist in developing teaching aids, monitor progress, and communicate with families and the public to foster positive relations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• AA degree or 72 college credits preferred or ability to pass para-educator test.
• Experience working with students in educational settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Work with students under the direction of certificated teachers to facilitate academic skills and oral language development.
• Learn instructional techniques under the supervision of a teacher and carry out programs they develop.
• Assist certificated staff in developing and using teaching aids and materials.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers in planning and delivery.
• Assist in assessing students and monitoring progress.
• Perform routine tasks to support student progress in class and activities.
• Move between classrooms as a typical daily schedule requires.
• Assist with required record keeping and communications with families.
