Job summary

Minnetonka Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional/Special Education Para for Scenic Heights Elementary. This 6.5-hour/day, 184-day position offers a chance to support individualized instruction and foster student growth in both regular and special education settings.

Minimum hourly rate starts at $24.31 for 2026-2027 and includes benefit eligibility. The role requires strong collaboration with teachers, data documentation, and commitment to student safety and privacy; training

Qualifications

• Must meet highly qualified status as defined by MDE on day one.
• Complete Personal Care Assistant Training certification as part of pre-employment.
• Experience supporting student instruction in classroom settings preferred.
• Knowledge of behavior modification strategies and resiliency.
• Experience with CPI strategies is preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Support, modify, and monitor individualized instruction for SPED students in 1:1 or small groups.
• Assist students with self-care tasks; assist with positioning and basic medical procedures under supervision.
• Operate special education equipment and supervise their safe use.
• Apply student management techniques to prevent or stop self-destructive behaviors.
• Participate in IEP conferences and meetings as requested.
• Record observational data, maintain logs, and monitor attendance daily.
• Perform other duties of a similar nature.
• Participate in training on third-party reimbursement and implement related tasks.
