Job summary

Lilac Learning Center in Spokane, WA is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to develop each student’s curricular trajectory and manage goals, while guiding staff in goal procedures and reporting to the Site Director.

The role runs 8am-4pm, Monday through Friday, year round, and is not remote. We foster a collaborative, nerdy team culture with ongoing training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Master's degree.
  • Washington teaching certificate with Special Education endorsement.
  • First Aid/CPR certification required or eligible.
  • Willingness to be trained in Safety Care de-escalation and crisis management techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Delegation to Lead Techs and Behavior Technicians.
  • Collaboration with BCBA on all student objectives and documents.
  • Identifying individual needs.
  • Creating a supportive and effective learning environment.
  • Ensuring accommodations.
  • Preparing lessons and resources.
  • Developing and maintaining IEP documentation.
  • Assessing student performance.
  • Teacher of record.
  • Physical management.
  • Updating parents on student progress.
  • Researching curriculum.
  • Assisting with cleaning tasks.
