Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with preparation for teaching diverse urban populations.
• Special Education Endorsement or eligibility required.
• Experience adapting instruction for students with varied learning needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Foster an educational environment conducive to learning for assigned special education students.
• Plan instructional programs and individual lesson plans.
• Adapt and modify programs as necessary to meet student needs.
• Establish classroom policies and supervise student behavior.
• Collaborate with families, specialists, and staff to support student achievement.
• Develop and implement IEP goals and monitor progress.
• Attend required staff meetings and professional development days.
• Direct activities of non-certificated personnel when assigned.
