Job summary

Seattle Public Schools seeks a licensed special education teacher to contribute to an urban, diverse learning community. You will deliver compliant instruction, develop and monitor IEPs, and collaborate with families, peers, and administrators to support student growth.

You will implement evidence-based practices, maintain documentation, and engage in ongoing district initiatives and professional development to advance student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; experience in teaching culturally diverse student populations preferred.
• Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with Special Education Endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Foster an educational environment conducive to learning; adapt objectives for individual students.
• Develop and implement IEPs and instructional plans; assess progress and prepare reports.
• Counsel, supervise, and discipline students as needed to meet standards of achievement.
• Collaborate with parents, guardians, specialists, and staff to support student progress.
• Attend required staff meetings and professional development days.
