Job summary

The Home for Little Wanderers seeks a Job Coach to support special education students in work, educational, and residential settings at the Walpole, MA location. Candidate brings a background in special education and experience helping students develop work skills in collaboration with the educational team and community partners.

The role involves on-site and community-based supports, supervising students, modeling professional work behavior, and assisting with employment training and life

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with a range of disabilities in educational or community settings.
• Ability to calmly respond to urgent or emergency situations.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and community-based supports to students in a variety of community settings.
• Direct supervision and monitoring of students in community and employment training settings to ensure safety.
• Model appropriate work maturity skills and hold students to expectations.
• Monitor student work performance and provide feedback and prompts as needed.
• Assist students in employment training through job coaching.
• Communicate effectively with employers and co-workers to integrate students into the work environment.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment and coordinate care with other staff.
• Plan activities and teach life and social skills to students in small groups or individually.
