Chesterfield County Public Schools is seeking an Instructional Assistant - Special Education to support students with IEPs in general and special education settings. Responsibilities include one-on-one and small-group support, recording progress, and preparing instructional materials under the guidance of the special education teacher.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, First Aid/ CPR/AED certification, and ASD-related training.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to supervise children in the absence of the teacher.
• Effective oral and written communication with students and staff.
• Knowledge of basic clerical tasks and classroom procedures.

Responsabilités

• Assists special education teachers with classroom duties, including recording grades, preparing instructional materials, and accommodations.
• Supports students during instructional activities (one-on-one, small groups, whole group) as directed.
• Supervises students on/ off the bus; assists with lunch and recess per IEP.
• Implements accommodations in a child’s IEP and assists with record-keeping.
