The role emphasizes collaboration with certificated staff, daily duties in lunchroom, classroom, and playground, and may involve assisting with personal care and mobility as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; Associate degree or 60 college hours preferred.
• Experience with special needs students is preferred.
• CPI certification or willingness to become CPI certified is preferred at next available opportunity.
• Ability to work with diverse learners in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists students in reaching their maximum potential and becoming independent learners.
• Assists in small group instruction and tutors pupils at teacher's request.
• Maintains discipline and supports teacher in implementing curriculum modifications.
• Assists with materials setup and implementation for instructional units.
• Supports and supervises students in bus, lunchroom, and recreational activities.
• Assists with data collection and documentation for individual students.
• Supports Behavior Intervention Plans and school-wide interventions.
