Job summary

Mason Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Special Education Assistant to support students in and around Alaiedon Elementary. The role includes one-on-one or small-group instruction, helping with intervention strategies, and tracking student progress under supervision of certified staff.

The position emphasizes consistent routines, proactive behavior management, and collaboration with teachers to create a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with children.
• Positive attitude and ability to build rapport with students.
• Ability to work cooperatively with teachers and students.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional and behavioral assistance under certified staff supervision.
• Offer one-on-one or small-group support and data collection on student progress.
• Support implementation of behavior plans and proactive strategies to manage transitions.
• Assist with preparing and organizing instructional/behavioral materials.
• Maintain confidentiality of school-related information.
• Perform other duties as assigned by building administration.
