Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six semester hours of coursework in early childhood education, OR two years of work experience in an early childhood setting (Title I).
• Maintain CPI certification and renewals; CPI training provided by WCPSS.

Responsibilities

• Supports teachers in coordinating instructional programs for special education students and IEPs.
• Assists with strategies for implementing behavioral intervention plans.
• Organizes materials and prepares instructional activities to meet lesson needs.
• Maintains confidentiality and complies with FERPA and related laws.
• Promotes safety and well-being, monitors student behavior, and supports transitions between classes.
• Assists with low- and high-tech assistive devices and augmentative communication in classroom.
• Maintains documentation and participates in district professional development.
