Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; ESSA Title I schools have additional requirements.
• Knowledge of IEP processes and student accommodations is preferred.
• Ability to protect student confidentiality under FERPA and related laws.
• Experience supporting students with diverse backgrounds and needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with coordinating instructional programs for special education students.
• Monitor student safety and behavior; support implementation of IEPs and behavior plans.
• Prepare materials and manage classroom resources tailored to individual lesson plans.
• Support transitions between classes and assist with health-related student needs as required.
• Maintain confidentiality and complete required reports and documentation.
