Job summary

ChanceLight Education Portland is seeking an Instructional Aide to support K-12 students with individualized instruction and behavior management. You will work with classroom teachers to implement IEP goals and monitor progress in school and community settings, ensuring instructional fidelity and student engagement.

The role emphasizes collaboration, patience, and adaptability in a student-centered environment with opportunities for growth and professional development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and passing basic skills test.
• Associate degree or higher in education or related field preferred.
• Paraprofessional credential preferred or in process.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to create a welcoming learning environment.
• Implement engaging, individualized instruction and behavioral interventions.
• Monitor students during lessons and track progress against timelines.
• Communicate with teachers about student achievements and areas needing intervention.
• Support and mentor students in academic, social, and vocational skills.
• Complete documentation of student behaviors and performance.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and participate in accreditation activities.
