Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education is hiring an Instructional Aide 1:1 to support students in grades K-12 within a special education program. The role involves delivering individualized instruction, assisting with IEP goals, and collaborating with teachers to ensure student success in classroom and community settings.

The position emphasizes patience, empathy, and strong communication, with a focus on empowering students to reach their full potential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with basic skills test.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in education or related field preferred.
  • Paraprofessional/paraeducator credential preferred or in process.
  • Ability to obtain crisis management certification.
  • Experience providing instruction/support to children in special ed/behavioral health settings.
  • Experience with students with learning disabilities, autism and related disorders.
  • Ability to act calmly in emergencies and make independent decisions.
  • Strong communication to motivate students toward goals.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Proficient in office software and record keeping.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teachers to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Deliver engaging, individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals.
  • Monitor student progress and communicate with teachers.
  • Support behavior plans and disciplinary policies in partnership with teachers.
  • Assist with development of behavioral reports and logs.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records and data.
  • Support accreditation activities and school-wide meetings.
  • Communicate with students, families, and staff about needs and progress.
