Job summary

Chesterfield County Public Schools is hiring an Instructional Assistant - Special Education (Title I) for Crenshaw Elementary School. The role provides classroom and environmental supports under the supervision of a special education teacher, assisting with instructional activities and accommodations per IEPs.

Responsibilities include recording grades, preparing materials, supervising students, and assisting with clerical tasks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification required; training provided.
• Background investigations: FBI, state police, CPS, TB testing.

Responsibilities

• Assists special education teachers with classroom duties and materials preparation.
• Supports students during instructional activities (one-on-one, small groups, whole group).
• Assists students onto/off bus and supervises at lunch/recess per IEP.
• Implements accommodations in a child’s IEP as directed by the teacher.
