Job summary

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs in California is hiring an Instructional Aide to support Elementary School students with individualized education plans. You will collaborate with classroom teachers to deliver instruction, monitor progress, and reinforce behavioral goals in and out of the classroom.

The role requires patience, empathy, and strong communication. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, CA driver's license, and the ability to obtain crisis management

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• CA driver’s license required or ability to obtain.
• Ability to obtain crisis management training certification.
• Paraprofessional, paraeducator, teaching assistant credential preferred.
• Experience with children in special education or behavioral health settings preferred.
• Ability to drive a company van with students before/after school.
• Strong written and verbal communication; teamwork and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Support instructional delivery in classroom and community settings.
• Collaborate with teachers to implement IEPs and tailored instruction.
• Monitor and document student progress; communicate outcomes to teachers.
• Manage student behavior with consistent disciplinary practices.
• Provide mentoring and skill-building in academic, social, and daily living areas.
• Prepare behavioral reports, activity logs, and other documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and reports.
