Qualifications

• Education/Certification: High School diploma or GED.
• Must meet NCLB requirements: either 2 years of college, an associate degree, or demonstration of relevant knowledge via assessment.

Responsibilities

• Uphold and enforce school rules and policies.
• Assist in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Work with individual students or small groups as directed.
• Assist with administration and scoring of tests and assignments.
• Supervise students during the school day inside and outside the classroom.
• Inform teacher of any special needs or problems of students.
• Maintain a neat and orderly classroom environment.
• Assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Assist in keeping administrative records and required reports.
• Participate in staff development and meetings; support special events.
• Provide orientation to substitute teachers; perform other duties as assigned.
