Job summary

Cypress-Fairbanks ISD is seeking a certified special education teacher to develop, implement and evaluate IEP goals and benchmarks. The role requires collaborating with educational support leaders and using data to drive program improvements, PLAAFPs and related objectives.

Proficiency in standards-based processes, experience writing IEPs and providing staff development is expected. The position is probationary/term with 197 days, salary guidelines noted, and opportunities to support students

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from a recognized, accredited college or university.
• Valid certification as a special education teacher.
• Demonstrated successful experience working with special needs students preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of successful experience as a certified special education teacher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Write, implement and evaluate IEP goals and benchmarks.
• Provide staff development on the standards-based IEP process to teachers at all levels.
• Provide technical assistance to teachers for developing PLAAFPS, IEP goals and benchmarks.
• Use multiple techniques for data collection on IEP goals and benchmarks.
• Analyze, interpret and report data on IEP goals and benchmarks.
• Collaborate with educational leadership and program coordinators in the IEP process.
• Support implementation of special education software management systems.
• Contribute to program reviews and adherence to guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
