Job summary

Mesa Public Schools Sirrine Montessori Center in Chandler, Arizona seeks an Instructional Assistant Special Education I - Resource, part-time to support certified teachers in implementing IEPs and assisting students with daily living and academic tasks.

Under supervision, you will reinforce classroom objectives, help develop instructional materials, collect data on goals, and maintain a safe, welcoming learning environment for students with diverse needs; regular attendance is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 60 college credits required at hire or pass the ParaPro test.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with special education students is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction under teacher direction and reinforce objectives.
• Assist in development of instructional materials and classroom maintenance.
• Collect data on academic and behavior goals as instructed.
• Implement positive behavior intervention plans in collaboration with staff.
• Assist with daily living activities and transfer of non-ambulatory students.
• Maintain a safe, positive learning environment and support meetings as needed.
