Cambridge Intermediate School is seeking a Special Education Instructional Assistant for a long-term substitute position. You will support students with behavior and academics, collaborating with the general and special education staff during a 6.5-hour day.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED with ParaPro/Para Educator testing (or 60 college credits) and a successful background check. Reliability, patience, and effective communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED and have passed ParaPro/Para Educator testing (or 60 college credits).
• Background check required.
• Prefer experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with behavior and academics throughout the day.
• Refocus students in the classroom and de-escalate negative behavior.
• Recognize and acknowledge positive behavior and support the classroom teacher and Special Education staff.
• Help increase independence in children and perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher.
