Job summary

South Washington County Schools is seeking a Special Education Flex Paraprofessional for Red Rock Elementary School/District. The role provides instructional and behavioral support to high-need students under a licensed teacher, with 3.25 hours per day (9:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.).

Starting pay is $22.70/hour; benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life, and retirement plans. Position is aligned with the school calendar and may involve summer paraprofessional opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to meet District 833 Highly Qualified requirements.
• Competency in basic math, reading, and writing support.
• Able to lift and transfer up to 50 pounds.
• Proven teamwork, confidentiality, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional and behavioral support to special education students under a licensed teacher.
• Consult daily with the licensed teacher regarding daily responsibilities.
• Assist with implementing district policies, emergency procedures, and classroom management.
• Support students in reading, writing, and math using adapted materials.
• Assist students with daily living activities and transitions as needed.
• Document behavior and student data per supervising teacher's directions.
• Maintain confidentiality and foster a respectful learning environment.
