South Washington County Schools is seeking a Special Education Flex Paraprofessional to support high-need students under the supervision of a licensed special education teacher. The role focuses on instructional and behavioral assistance in Woodbury High School.

Work hours are 6.25 per day from 8:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a half-hour unpaid lunch. Starting pay is $22.70 per hour, with potential increase for Highly Qualified status as defined by the district.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to meet District 833 Highly Qualified requirements.
• Competencies as required by State of Minnesota, Federal government, and/or District 833.
• Ability to reinforce math, reading, and writing skills in elementary and/or secondary classrooms.
• Ability to lift and transfer up to 50 pounds.
• Proven teamwork, confidentiality, and communication skills.
• Models appropriate behavior, neat appearance, and proper grammar usage for all students.
• Self-directed and able to organize small group reading and math activities with resources and assessments provided.

Responsabilidades

• Consult daily with licensed special education teacher regarding daily responsibilities.
• Assist licensed teacher in implementing district policies and procedures, including emergency procedures, confidentiality, and data collection.
• Assist students in academic areas such as reading, writing or math under teacher direction.
• Work with students with learning challenges or physical needs, including transitions and daily living activities.
• Accept changing assignments and new duties as needed.
• Support behavior management techniques and supervise students during cooling off times.
• Collect and record student data per teacher directions and share with staff.
• Provide services to students with respect for roles of teacher and paraprofessional.
• Maintain boundaries and confidentiality with students, families, and staff.
• Uphold fairness, respect, and equity for all students and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
