South Washington County Schools seeks a High Needs/Resource Special Ed Paraprofessional for Red Rock Elementary School to provide instructional and behavioral support to students under a licensed special education teacher.

The position is 6.25 hours per day, 9:10 a.m. – 3:55 p.m. with a ½ hour unpaid lunch, starting at $22.70 per hour and eligible for district benefits and additional pay upon Highly Qualified status. Applications accepted Oct 5–10, 2026 or until filled.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to meet District 833 Highly Qualified requirements.
• Competencies as required by State of Minnesota, Federal government, and/or District 833.
• Reinforce math, reading, and writing skills in classrooms.
• Ability to lift and transfer up to 50 pounds.
• Proven teamwork, confidentiality, and communication skills.
• Models appropriate behavior and positive learning environment.
• Pass Paraprofessional fitness for duty tests.

Responsabilités

• Consult daily with licensed special education teacher regarding daily responsibilities.
• Assist teacher in implementing district policies and procedures, including emergency procedures, confidentiality, and data collection.
• Assist students in reading, writing, or math under the teacher's direction.
• Support students with learning challenges/behavioral issues and provide physical assistance as needed.
• Accept changing assignments and new duties as needed.
• Use behavioral management techniques and document student behavior as directed.
• Collect and record student data per supervising teacher's directions.
• Provide services as directed by the licensed teacher while respecting roles.
• Maintain boundaries and confidentiality with students, families, and staff.
• Maintain fairness, confidentiality, respect and equity for all.
