Job summary

Shakopee Public Schools seeks a 1.0 FTE Special Education (SpEd) Teacher for elementary vacancies for the 2026-27 school year.

Deliver direct and indirect Special Education services to students in a resource room setting, monitor progress on IEP goals and objectives, follow due process and IEP procedures and manage the paperwork, communicate effectively with families and staff, develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans, direct the work of Paraeducator(s).

Qualifications

• MN teaching licensure in Special Education.
• Experience delivering specialized instruction to meet diverse student needs.
• Preference for experience with EBD/ASD/OHD and IEP procedures.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect SpEd services in a resource room.
• Monitor progress on IEP goals and objectives; maintain paperwork.
• Follow due process and IEP procedures; communicate with families and staff.
• Develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans; supervise Paraeducator(s).
• Provide instruction aligned to each student’s abilities and create a positive learning environment.
