Job summary

Shakopee Public Schools seeks a 1.0 FTE Long Term Substitute Special Education Teacher for Shakopee High School. The assignment starts immediately with an undetermined end date.

The teacher will deliver services in resource or co-taught settings, monitor IEP goals, manage paperwork, and coordination with families and staff. Strong collaboration with staff and proficient communication are essential.

Qualifications

• MN licensure in special education EBD, SLD, ASD or ABS.
• Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction.
• NVCI (CPI) training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect special education services in a resource room and/or co-taught classroom.
• Monitor progress on IEP goals and objectives; follow due process and IEP procedures; manage paperwork.
• Communicate effectively with families and staff; develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans; direct paraprofessionals.
• Provide instruction aligned to each student’s abilities and create a classroom environment that supports learning and growth.
• Work collaboratively with other staff and establish strong relationships with students and parents.
