Job summary

Shakopee Public Schools is seeking a 1.0 FTE Long Term Substitute Special Education Teacher for Shakopee High School, starting around January 21, 2027. The role involves delivering SpEd services in a resource room or co-taught setting and coordinating IEP goals and related paperwork.

Candidates must hold MN SPED licensure and have experience with diverse disabilities; NVCI training is preferred. The district offers comprehensive health and retirement benefits and a strong mentoring program.

Qualifications

• Valid MN teaching licensure in special education (EBD/SLD/ASD/ABS).
• Experience delivering specialized instruction to students with diverse disabilities.
• Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction.
• NVCI (CPI) training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect special education services in resource room and/or co-taught classroom.
• Monitor progress on IEP goals and objectives and manage paperwork per IEP procedures.
• Develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans and supervise paraprofessionals.
• Collaborate with families and staff; communicate effectively with families and colleagues.
