Job summary

Portland Public Schools seeks a dedicated Special Education Ed Tech III to support students in the Functional Life Skills Program at Moore Middle School. Under the Director of Specialized Programs and the School Principal, you will assist the Special Education Teacher with instructional and non-instructional duties, data tracking, and Mainecare documentation.

Qualifications

Ability to manage data systems, analyze and synthesize data.
Ability to support teaching and learning.
Ability to manage schoolwide testing procedures.
Ability to interact with staff, students, parents in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

Assisting students with personal care and daily living tasks.
Supporting communication systems including AAC devices.
Assisting with academic and functional instruction under teacher direction.
Supporting community-based instruction and vocational activities.
Facilitating social interactions and peer engagement.
Maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
Provides specially designed instruction for students with IEPs.
Implements lesson plans and follows schedules from the special education teacher.
Performs short-term instruction in small classes or community programs.
Implements PSPs, BIPs and ITPs and maintains data collection.
