Job summary

Big Spring ISD is seeking a licensed Educational Diagnostician to assess students for special education eligibility and coordinate IEP development. The role collaborates with teachers, parents, and ARD committees to determine appropriate instructional programs.

The diagnostician will administer both formal and informal assessments, interpret data, and ensure compliance with district policies while supporting instructional staff in delivering effective services for students with disabilities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in educational assessment is required.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate required.
• Valid Texas educational diagnostician certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Administer formal and informal assessments to determine eligibility for special education services.
• Compile student data from observations, interviews, and records and interpret results.
• Participate in ARD Committee for placement decisions and IEP development.
• Present staff development on identifying and understanding students with disabilities.
• Assist classroom teachers with IEP implementation.
• Select assessment materials and coordinate the assessment program.
• Maintain reports and ensure compliance with district, state, and federal requirements.
• Follow district safety protocols and procedures.
