Job summary

Qualifications

• Eligibility for the Maryland State Department of Education teaching certificate.
• Out-of-state applicants can request PEC if they hold a valid out-of-state certificate.
• Knowledge of subject matter and appropriate instructional methodologies.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing using the English language.
• Exemplary organizational and planning skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and personal qualities necessary to work effectively with students, parents, and administrators.

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers school elementary curriculum aligned with district goals.
• Promotes a classroom environment safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates them into learning experiences.
• Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and modifies instructional methods for individual needs.
• Encourages parental involvement and maintains effective communication with families.
• Ensures student conduct aligns with school and district policies and maintains a positive classroom atmosphere.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and central administrators.
