Job summary

Equality Charter School is seeking an experienced Special Education Coordinator to manage compliance with New York City DOE or charter settings. This role advocates for scholars, oversees IEP and 504 processes, and guides families through special education procedures.

The position offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement: remote 3–4 days per week with on-site at least one day, or fully in-person per candidate preference.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
• Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
• New York State certification in the relevant subject area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee all CSE processes and meetings.
• Ensure quality of teacher reports and IEP documentation.
• Align IEPs with scholars’ needs and maintain SESIS records.
• Monitor IEP goals and progress reporting.
• Meet with case managers to ensure service delivery.
• Communicate with families to support student success.
• Coordinate with external providers for mandated services.
• Oversee 504 processes and plans.
• Coordinate transportation services for eligible scholars.
