Job summary

Fitzgerald Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Coach to build educator capacity for students with disabilities by coaching across special education programs, including resource, ASD, CI, EI, SLD, and related services. The coach will provide professional learning and assist with IEP development and meetings, under district supervision.

Qualifications

• Requires Michigan teaching certificate with endorsement in special ed.
• Experience providing special education services and coaching preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IDEA, MARSE, and related requirements.

Responsibilities

• Apply current research and evidence-based practices to improve outcomes for students with disabilities.
• Provide instructional coaching to teachers for evidence-based practices.
• Meet with teachers on coaching cycles to identify needs and plan goals.
• Assist with designing and delivering specially designed instruction aligned with IEP goals.
• Support teachers in implementing IEPs with fidelity and progress monitoring.
• Collaborate with general education staff to support inclusive practices and MTSS processes.
