Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years of college or an associate degree, or WorkKeys scores meeting minimum requirements.
• Good public relations and communication skills are required.
• Ability to work with students with disabilities and understand their learning needs.
• Must meet Alabama employment suitability criteria under state acts.

Responsibilities

• Assist the special education teacher with curriculum and programming for students with disabilities.
• Supervise students and ensure safety and appropriate behavior in classrooms and common areas.
• Support use of technology and devices to facilitate learning and communication.
• Participate in crisis management training and state-required certifications.
