Job summary

Qualifications

• Must hold a secondary school diploma or its recognized equivalent and one of the following qualifications.
• Good public relations skills.
• Ability to understand the unique needs and learning characteristics of students.
• Ability to meet the suitability criteria for employment and/or certification licensure under applicable laws.
• Ability to work collaboratively as a team member with large and/or diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Assist the special education teacher to implement curriculum and programming for students with disabilities.
• Supervise students and support safety procedures in line with state/local policies.
• Help manage classroom behavior and learning environment.
• Participate in school improvement activities and compliance reporting.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Principal or special education teacher.
