Job summary

St. Clair County School System seeks a Special Education (Instructional) Aide to assist the teacher in delivering behavioral, instructional, and support services for students with disabilities in a classroom setting.

The position operates under a 184-day calendar, is non-exempt, and reports to the principal and SPED staff. The aide supports safety, confidentiality, and collaboration to promote student learning and progress.

Qualifications

• Must hold a secondary school diploma or its recognized equivalent and one of the following qualifications: 2 years of college OR an Associate’s Degree OR WorkKeys Level 3 in Applied Mathematics; WorkPlace Documents; Business Writing.
• Good public relations skills
• Ability to understand the unique needs and learning characteristics of students
• Ability to meet the suitability criteria under relevant Alabama acts
• Ability to work collaboratively as a team member
