Job summary

Niles Township High Schools District 219 is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to provide instructional, behavioral, and classroom support to students with diverse learning needs. Working under the supervision of a licensed teacher and SPED administrators, you will help students access curriculum, develop academic and social-emotional skills, and participate in classroom and school activities.

This position requires an Illinois Paraprofessional or Substitute License, prior experience

Qualifications

• Illinois Paraprofessional or Substitute License required by ISBE.
• Experience with students with disabilities preferred.
• Knowledge of instructional practices, child development, and behavior support.
• Experience in diverse, multicultural environments.

Responsibilities

• Support students in developing academic, organizational, behavioral, and social-emotional skills aligned with IEPs.
• Assist with direct instruction and reinforcement of lessons in small groups or individually.
• Provide accommodations to help students access curriculum across subjects.
• Adapt materials under supervising teacher direction.
• Monitor and support students during assessments and tasks.
