Job summary

Illinois Education Job Bank is seeking a paraprofessional to assist classroom teachers in implementing IEPs and supporting students with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. The role requires an IL ELS license for Paraprofessional, strong communication and collaboration skills, and a commitment to confidentiality in a diverse school environment.

Responsibilities include supervision, materials prep, and assisting students with personal care as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Educator License with Stipulations (ELS) endorsed for Paraprofessional.
• Ability to work effectively with students of varying academic, behavioral, and developmental needs.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively as part of a school team.
• Previous experience working with children is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher with instruction, supervision, and implementation of students' IEPs.
• Provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to individual students and small groups.
• Support classroom management and maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Prepare instructional materials and assist with classroom organization.
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, cafeterias, and other school settings as assigned.
• Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, parents, and other staff.
• Assist students with personal care needs, including toileting, when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or administration.
