Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking an EC teacher assistant to support the assigned teacher and work with EC students under general supervision. You will reinforce learning, monitor progress toward IEP goals, and help with instruction in small groups and classrooms, while maintaining safety and compliance with district policies.

This 09-month, full-time position requires a postsecondary education and a willingness to collaborate with teachers and staff.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 48 college credits required.
• Pass WorkKeys exam and 96 hours of in-service training.
• Completion of NC Teacher Assistant Apprenticeship Program preferred.
• One year experience with EC students preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the assigned teacher in delivering instruction to EC students.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, and on school grounds.
• Support IEP goals by tracking progress and collecting data.
• Prepare instructional materials and help with assessments.
