Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a Special Education Classroom Assistant to support students with disabilities under the supervision of a licensed Special Education teacher. The role includes one-on-one tutoring, daily living skills support, and assisting with instructional activities in AM and PM sessions.

The position requires a valid ISBE paraprofessional license (or equivalent) and completion of at least 60 college credit hours; CPR training is highly desirable and training may be provided.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of English grammar and spelling.
• Ability to work with students with various disabilities as per IEPs.
• CPR training is highly desirable and may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction of students with disabilities under supervision of the teacher.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring and support for daily living skills.
• Help with classroom routine, record keeping, and behavior notes.
• Assist with field trips and in-service trainings.
