Job summary

Wake County Public School System seeks a dedicated Special Education teacher to coordinate and provide instructional programs for students with IEPs. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university.
• Eligible for NC Professional Educator's License in Exceptional Children's.
• Valid NC driver's license per state requirements.
• Experience with IEP development is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops IEPs for students with disabilities and updates as needed.
• Implements instructional strategies and progress monitoring tools for specially designed instruction.
• Assists students in completing curriculum tasks and IEP goals.
• Employs varied teaching methods, strategies, and accommodations to meet student needs.
• Monitors student behavior and maintains classroom discipline; deescalates when needed.
• Attends IEP meetings and collaborates as part of the team.
• Keeps abreast of trends and best practices through professional development.
