Job summary

Minneapolis Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Assistant (OHD) on a temporary basis for Justice Page School. The role supports students with disabilities, assists staff with individualization of lessons, and promotes independence and social inclusion.

This is a temporary assignment with a set period, based on school-year timing. Ideal candidates will assist with therapy goals and daily activities, while maintaining confidentiality and following district policies.

Qualifications

• Completion of 90 quarter or 60 semester college credits in Education, Child Development, Behavioral Sciences or related area.
• OR a passing score of 460 on the ParaPro Assessment AND a high school diploma/GED.
• Two years of paid experience working with children; or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Support students with disabilities to promote independence and inclusion.
• Assist staff to implement individualized instructional activities.
• Provide data and observations for progress monitoring and IEPs.
