Job summary

Lake Oswego School District is seeking a Temporary Special Education Assistant II at Hallinan Elementary School. The role supports instructional activities for students with special needs, assists with IEP/504 plans, and helps ensure student safety and well-being under staff supervision.

Responsibilities include data collection, classroom assistance, and collaboration with teachers and health staff. Work requires handling health needs and de-escalation procedures when necessary.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED is required.
Interpersonal: Works well with others from diverse backgrounds.
Language Skills: Fluent English with good spelling and grammar.
Reasoning: Applies common sense to carry out instructions and solve problems.
Computer Skills: Proficient with office computers and basic software.

Responsibilities

Assist with supervision and instruction of special needs students.
Observe and document student progress and implement instruction plans.
Provide physical, health and mobility assistance as needed.
Support teachers with testing, data collection and record-keeping.
Maintain confidentiality and follow district policies.
