Job summary

Minneapolis Public Schools seeks a Special Education Assistant (Program) for Pillsbury Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year. This temp assignment supports students with ASD and other disabilities, helping with individualized lessons, inclusion, and daily activities.

The role requires a paraeducator credential, HS Diploma or GED, and 2+ years of experience with children. This position is based at Pillsbury with daily site attendance and adherence to district policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required and related education experience preferred.
• Two (2) years of paid experience working with children; OR equivalent combination.
• Passing score of 460 or higher on the ParaPro Assessment; and related training.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with disabilities in learning activities and individualize lessons.
• Help maintain safe, inclusive classroom environment and enforce district policies.
• Support daily routines: transitions, meals, transportation, and activities.
