Job summary

Minneapolis Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Assistant for a temporary SEA Cadre assignment at the Davis Center. The role involves assisting students with disabilities, supporting staff in implementing individualized lessons, and helping students meet therapy and education goals.

Under general supervision, you will work with diverse learners across programs serving autism, mental and physical impairments, and related needs.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher in Education or closely related area.
• Completed 90 quarter or 60 semester college credits from an accredited institution.
• Passing score of 460 (or higher) on the ParaPro Assessment AND either a high school diploma or a GED.
• Two years of professional experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with special needs in a learning environment.
• Help staff develop and implement individualized lessons and activities.
• Support behavior management and student progress.
• Collaborate with staff to meet therapy and education goals.
