Job summary

Kennedy Krieger Institute, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Teacher II to support teachers and implement instruction per each student’s IEP.

The role includes aiding with adapting instruction to meet academic, medical, developmental, and tech needs, and possibly assuming teacher duties during absences. Qualifications

PCM training and certification at Practitioner level or higher is required.
Bachelor’s degree is required.
Experience with children with developmental disabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with the implementation of instruction per IEP in collaboration with a supervising teacher.
Prepare for and participate in parent conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings.
Assume responsibilities during after school emergencies including supervision and documentation.
Support curricular and extracurricular activities and events that promote a positive school climate.
Complete instructional duties as assigned by supervising teachers and administrators.
Provide independent instruction and classroom management in the absence of the supervising teacher.
Implement behavioral protocols during instructional and non-instructional times.
Use instructional time professionally per guidelines and participate in in-service trainings.
