Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation seeks a Special Education Assistant for a Severe/Profound long-term assignment at Lodge K8. This paraprofessional role assists teachers with classroom activities and supports students with special needs in various settings.

The position runs 5 days a week at 6.75 hours per day through May 28, 2027, with a starting wage of $16.41 per hour. Benefits include employee medical insurance, two sick days, and half a personal day per semester.

Qualifications

• Supports teachers in classroom and resource settings for students with disabilities.
• Maintains classroom routines, attendance, and reports as directed.
• Communicates effectively with students, staff and families.
• Collaborates with EVSC team to support district policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with daily classroom activities and student management.
• Prepare instructional materials and help with attendance/class reports.
• Supervise students during recess, meals, and transitions.
• Follow teacher instructions and classroom procedures.
• Assist with loading/unloading of students on buses.
• Support non-medical personal care needs as required by specific classes.
