Job summary

Frederick County Public Schools is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Special Education Instructional Assistant for Kemptown Elementary School. The role supports students with IEPs and provides instructional assistance under a special education teacher, with potential for physical and personal care tasks as needed.

Starting 11/02/2026, the position is non-exempt and pays $17.13 per hour. Candidates should be prepared to work with deadlines, communicate student progress, and participate in IEP team

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Minimum 48 college credits, AA degree or ParaPro assessment for Title One Schools.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Drive.
• Regular and predictable attendance is required.

Responsibilities

• Supports students under direction of certificated FCPS staff.
• Communicates and documents student progress.
• Prepares and adapts materials and assistive devices for student use.
• Assists with IEP goals and data collection.
• Provides general clerical support for the program.
